“Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania: Fifty Years and Forward” is a nostalgic look at the museum’s origins, its first 50 years of service, highlights of its programs and projects, and prospects for the future. Railroad Museum Director, Patrick C. Morrison, will use archival and contemporary images to share some of the more notable and memorable aspects of the museum’s history. Learn what makes the collection so unique and get a glimpse of a possible future for this beloved institution.
Patrick C. Morrison is the Site Administrator at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, where he has been employed for the past 29 years. Previously, Pat was a Museum Educator there, devoting his time to developing and conducting education programs for children and adults. Pat earned his bachelor’s degree in social studies/secondary education from Millersville University in 1995 and a master’s degree in history, specializing in museum studies, from the University of Delaware in 1999. Before coming to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in 1996, Pat also worked as an intern for three summers at the Altoona Railroaders’ Memorial Museum in the early 90s. He currently resides in Landisville, PA, with his wife Andrea and two children. His interest in railroads was sparked by both his father and grandfather collecting and selling model trains at train meets and flea markets when he was a kid.
