Step back in time and experience the art of early American textiles at Old Economy Village! As part of the America 250 celebration, this special event—presented in partnership with Three Rivers Fiber Focus—brings history to life through the fascinating process of turning wool and flax into cloth.
From “flax to fabric,” visitors can explore how the Harmony Society created essential textiles through skill, innovation, and community craftsmanship.
Hands-on activities and demonstrations include:
• Spinning and weaving
• Flax processing
• Flax bracelet making
• Exploring animal and plant fibers
• Opportunities to weave your own piece of linsey-woolsey
Yes—there will be a sheep to pet!

• Skirting and scouring a sheep fleece
