250th Revolutionary Speaker Series: Rich VEit

Saturday, April 18, 2026
12 - 1:30pm

Join archaeologist Rich Veit for this hybrid program exploring how new archaeological and interdisciplinary work is reshaping our understanding of the American Revolution. Learn how archaeology is rewriting parts of the era, with new insights, new evidence, and a deeper view of the past.

Veit, a professor of anthropology at Monmouth University and a leading voice in historical archaeology, will share recent findings from regional sites and discuss how material evidence adds depth to the written record. His career spans teaching, research, and public history leadership, with publications on cemeteries, New Jersey’s past, and the archaeology of the Delaware Valley. His work has been featured on NPR, in Archaeology Magazine, and on TEDx Navesink.
