We’re beginning our 250th‑anniversary programming with the first talk in our new Revolutionary Speaker Series, featuring historian Jim Mc Intyre. A Delaware County native, he developed his interest in the 1777 fight for control of the Delaware River while studying History at Temple University and working as a docent at Fort Mifflin. That experience led to more than ten years of research and his book A Most Gallant Resistance: The Delaware River Campaign, September–October 1777.
Mc Intyre earned his Bachelor’s degree in History from Temple University and later completed his Master’s degree in History at the University of Illinois. His work focuses on the American War of Independence and the Seven Years’ War, and he has written widely on both, including studies of light troops and the career of Johann Ewald. He also serves as editor of the Journal of the Seven Years’ War Association and teaches History at Moraine Valley Community College, along with his role in the U.S. Naval War College’s College of Distance Education.
This virtual program opens our 250th‑year series and sets the tone for the commemorations ahead.
