Log Birling Clinic
Saturday, June 11
Have you always wanted to try standing on a floating log and rolling it to knock an opponent off? Join museum staff to learn the basics of birling and learn some tips and techniques to staying on-top of the log. With newfound confidence and skill, participants might then consider returning to the museum on July 3 to compete in the state’s birling championship which takes place during our annual Bark Peelers’ Festival.
The clinic is intended for strong swimmers who are 12 years of age and older (participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and all participants must complete and sign a Release of Liability). Please come dressed to get wet; sneakers or water shoes are recommended, but no caulks, cleats or spikes. Don’t forget to bring a towel and a change of clothes!
Contact the museum at (814) 435-2652 to register or to ask any questions.
